Goodbye airport! Thanks for sending me places and welcoming me home during the previous 30 years of my life. You got me in quick and your lines were very seldom long. If only you weren’t so 1970s ugly and defeated. Time to get bigger and better, more modern with lots of steel and glass. Looking forward to some of your pretty neat amenities like electricity and water and toilets while waiting for flights. Maybe even food. Let’s make KC layovers and flight delays great again!!
We're used to the professionalism and curtesy at the Denver airport, where they treat you like a human being. Can't wait to get out of here...
I kind of like the old airport design. There's very little room to get lost, and a short walk from the entrance, though security and to your gate. It could use a remodel.
I Love this airport. You go pass security in less than 10 minutes and the gates are close by. My dear ones can see me get in the airplane because there is a glass that separate us. I usually check my bags and then stay around walking and talking to friends until the very last minute. Then I pass security that takes less than 5 minutes and I am in my gate right on time.
I am a frequent business traveler, but passed through in October with my family. Please, please, please update this airport! It is wildly out of date. Every bathroom needs to be remodeled and expanded. The waiting area is tiny and cramped. Food options past security are very limited in most terminals. VOTE YES ON THE NEW AIRPORT!!
However, our security experience was terrible this time. Both myself and my husband were yelled at for minor mistakes, like I didn't put my tablet in a separate container. Two security personnel were simultaneously giving my husband conflicting information orders multiple times. It seemed like one or two of the security personnel did not like their jobs or each other, and took it out the passengers. :/ We've used several airports and this was the worst security experience. Some of the evening food service staff were pretty crusty too.
Not many choices for food. If you are flying out of this airport make sure you are not there too early because you will get bored quickly. I couldn't find a TV with flight departure info. Spirit Airlines staff was kind of rude but the 5 minute walk through security made up for it. Overall decent airport. Clean restrooms.
